Guerrillero Heroico (Heroic Guerrilla) is the name of Alberto Korda’s well-known photo of the Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara. It was taken on March 5, 1960, in Havana, Cuba, at a memorial service for victims of the La Coubre explosion.Korda was a staunch communist  Passed out to the occasional friend and published in a few small Cuban publications, Che’s image remained relatively unknown for 7 years.

The photo was not published internationally until seven years later, but it was a cropped, watershed version that became a pop-culture icon after Che died. It was an Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick who received a copy from the Dutch anarchist group “the Provos” which in turn received it via Jean Paul Sartre, who created the iconic poster.

  1. Sad, He had a great opportunity when he travelled the world after the Cuban Revolution making speeches to important people. But instead of peacefull solutions he opted for armed revolution, and he more or less said it.

He hated the American and Canadian way of life. and He wanted to destroy it, by armed revoltion.

basicly marxist economy is part of the day you work just to feed your family, and after that your labor goes to the government..(no pay of course) , this type of economy would require a strong military force to enforce this. Eventually it will fall apart, as we have seen. no incentive to work really, corruption would run rampant. The people in power will do everything to stay their.

Che was upset about all the poverty in the world, well he had a chance to try and fix it by diplomatic means, but he chose armed revoltion instead.

hard to understand the hardship that he put himself and his men through in Bolivia. When he could have worked to help them by peacefull means.

  2. Che didn’t cause revolutions, he meerely helped them on their way. Che was no threat to the US or Canada. He wanted people who were unhappy with their society to cause their own revolution. He succeded in influence the Popular Peoples Revolution in China. He also visited North Ireland.

Che stood for justice, freedom and revolution. He chose to arm people because he saw it as the most viable option to effect societies.

    ELE CHE VIVE.
